Kashagan Field Development Experimental Programme
ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Inc. (EMKI) has been nominated as Drilling Operator in developing the North Caspian Project in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The field was situated in the northern part of the Caspian Sea close to the Kazakhstan city of Atyrau and covers an area of over 5,500 square km (approx. 2,200 square miles).
The future phase development drilling program was based on drilling at Drilling Clusters (Rock Islands) in a water depths ranging from 3.1 m CD (4.1 m MSL) to 6.6 m CD (7.6 m MSL) and utilizing transportation barges to be loaded in floating conditions.
Company was operating two land based drilling facilities (Rigs 401 and 402) located on “D” Island in the Kashagan Field.
