Kashagan Field Development Experimental Programme
Kashagan oil field is located in the north Caspian Sea in the Republic of Kazakhstan and is situated approximately 80 km south east of the town of Atyrau. The water depth in the area is approximately 4 m.
The Kashagan Field Development Experimental Programme Project included the production of crude oil and associated gases from the reservoir by a combination of offshore facilities at Block D and A and onshore processing facilities and the pipelines system to transport the crude oil and gases to a new inshore processing plant named Eskene West (40 km east of Atyrau) where the oil and gases are then treated and conditioned.
The offshore facilities system consists of Block D (Drilling Island, Riser Island and Process/Utility Facilities), Block A (Drilling and Riser Island).
